Configuration Window

The Configuration window is viewed by selecting the Configuration option on the Tools menu. The configuration window allows you to control how Exigen Reminder operates.

Reminders Configuration

When entering information for a patient the following items control the creation of reminder letters:

  1. Date of last appointment
  2. The period before their next appointment is due, expressed in weeks, months or years.
  3. The reminder letter that the patient is to be sent.

Based on a patient's last appointment and the period before their next appointment, Exigen Reminder is able to determine the due date of their next appointment. A reminder letter will be sent to a patient a set period before their next appointment is due.

The period before an appointment that a reminder will be sent is specified using the configuration form. The time period before a patient's next appointment that they are sent a reminder can be expressed as a number of days, weeks or months.

When a new patient is created they are automatically assigned a reminder letter. The Reminders configuration tab allows the default letter for new patients to be specified.

If a user has not made an appointment within a certain time period after a reminder letter has been sent then Exigen Reminder can be configured to send them a second reminder. The Reminders configuration tab allows the second reminder option to be enabled/disabled and allows the time period after the initial reminder letter that the second reminder letter is to be sent to be set.

User Information

The User Information Configuration tab allows you to enter your practice details. This information is automatically updated in any existing reminder letters. Your user information is also automatically inserted into any new reminder you create (see creating reminders).

Categories

For promotional purposes patients can be categorised. This section allows patient categories to be added, renamed or deleted from the system. There is no limit to the number of categories that may be configured.

Security

By default there is no security in Exigen Reminder. All users can create new reminder letters and configure the system. In some situations you may wish to restrict some users from the administration tasks.

The Security tab allows you to specify an administration password. Once this has been set then it is only possible to access the Letter Management and Configuration functionality after logging in (see logging in form).

Note the password security only becomes operational the next time you start Exigen Reminder.
